Pet Microchipping
A quick and easy procedure of implanting a microchip can save a lot of stress if your pet goes missing. The WDC requires all dogs registered in the Whanganui region (not farm dogs) to be microchipped over the age of 3 months.
We also recommend microchipping cats, this can be easily done while they are spayed or neutered. This is especially invaluable to find owner’s when injured cats are bought into the clinic without an owner – remember cats roam far and wide.
Registration of both cats and dogs on the New Zealand Companion Animal Register is recommended as this database is widely accessible to all Vet Clinics and SPCAs nationally. This is a one off fee for the duration of the life of your pet.
